AMCC looks forward to another successful year as a premier sponsor at the West Coast Casualty CD Conference.

AMCC Mediator Ross Hart Wins Prestigious Industry Award

Ross Hart is the recipient of the prestigious 2013 Legend of an Era Award presented at the 2013 West Coast Casualty Construction Defect Seminar attended by more than 1600 lawyers, claims professionals and forensic experts. The annual Legend of an Era Award recognizes an individual in the construction defect community whose contributions and work influence others to the overall benefit and betterment of the CD community.

Hart stated: “I am deeply honored to have received the Legend of an Era Award from West Coast Casualty. My job as mediator of complex construction, insurance coverage and construction defect disputes is both challenging and rewarding. It means everything to be recognized by the construction defect community for the service I have provided over the last twenty years. While there is always zealous advocacy among the participants in these disputes, the annual West Coast Casualty seminar and the continuing education it provides has helped to foster great respect, civility, professionalism and collegiality among counsel and the carriers. I believe these relationships, developed over the years, help to get most CD disputes resolved far less expensively and far more efficiently than would otherwise be the case all to the benefit of those paying the freight. I look forward to upholding the values this Award represents.”

Mr. Hart works as a mediator throughout the Western states. He is on the panel of neutrals for AMCC, a dispute resolution provider to the construction, insurance and real estate industries. “It came as no surprise that Ross received this prestigious Award,” said AMCC President, Karen Smith. “He is so very well regarded by his peers. In his long and exemplary career as a mediator, he has earned the trust and confidence of those tasked with advocating in complex and challenging disputes, allowing Ross to craft honest and comprehensive resolutions. He possesses the rare combination of exceptional intelligence mixed with sincere determination, which translates into successful settlements. It is a great source of pride for me to work with him.”

AMCC mediators Ross Hart, Matt Argue and Steve McAvoy will be in attendance, as well as staff at our booth. We hope you will stop by and say hello.

AMCC Opens New Resolution Center in the Heart of San Diego

SAN DIEGO: With the addition of long time construction insider Stephen McAvoy to a panel anchored by industry veterans Matthew Argue and Ross Hart, AMCC has jumped into the slowly reviving San Diego construction and real estate dispute resolution market with both feet. With a well deserved reputation as a big city with a small town feel, it was vital for AMCC to attract top people from the local community, and both Argue and McAvoy fit the bill perfectly. Mr. Argue became a full-time neutral in several years ago after leading the Construction Litigation Department for the Procopio law firm. Together they enhance a firmly established panel highlighted by nationally recognized mediator and arbitrator Ross R. Hart.

“It is always tough to time a market,” says AMCC Managing Director Karen Smith, “but we feel that the combination of having two very capable neutrals getting established in a permanent facility will position us well for when the market comes back completely.” This will be the third full service California office for AMCC, adding to facilities across the state. For nearly two decades AMCC has been specializing in the resolution of construction and real estate disputes through its panel of mediators, arbitrators and appraisers. AMCC is also the sole administrator of the arbitration program of the California Contractors State Licensing Board (CSLB).
