Mediator Stephen McAvoy Joins AMCC
AMCC is pleased to welcome Mediator Stephen McAvoy to its esteemed roster of professional neutrals. Mediator McAvoy brings a wealth of dispute resolution and practical experience, including twenty eight years of litigation and advocacy split nearly equally between plaintiff and defense representation. His combined experience makes him uniquely qualified to view disputes from all perspectives, and his resolution expertise allows stakeholders to overcome challenges that otherwise create barriers to successful settlements. Based in Southern California, Mediator McAvoy is available to serve in construction defect, insurance, business / commercial and professional liability matters throughout the Western United States.
AMCC continues its service to the Contractors State License Board Arbitration program
Marking its eleventh year of service to the Contractors State License Board, AMCC is honored to administer the prestigious CSLB arbitration program. Approximately 400 disputes with values up to $50,000 are resolved through this forum. The CSLB provides for this valuable service at no charge to consumers and contractors. The esteemed Arbitrators that hear these cases have formal alternative dispute resolution training, as well as specific industry and construction trade experience. Resolving approximately four hundred disputes a year, the program provides a final and satisfying resolution outside of the expensive court system with the intent of creating a better building and contracting environment.
Construction Defect Arbitrations
In light of the California Supreme Court's long anticipated decision in Pinnacle Museum Tower Association v. Pinnacle Market Development (U.S.), LLC, et al*., we have mobilized our roster of professional and experienced arbitrators for construction defect claims.
Along with Ross Hart, AMCC mediators and arbitrators for these matters include Matt Argue, Alex Robertson, , Stephen McAvoy, Robert Mann and Gary Halpin.
